Week #22 - November 26th, 2017 - A DREAM COME TRUE!!!

A Dream Come True!
KIA ORA!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! I'm grateful for each and every one of you! Okay, so this week we had a little Thanksgiving party and it was a combined ward activity to help us fellowship our investigators- haha No one showed up except our investigators and their kids so it turned into a primary activity but hey, I had fun so all goods!

This week we also decided to bike haha I prefer walking but it was fun! We went to this less active's house and she has an original copy of a Maori hymn book, which
Horses!! I Miss Riding Chiquita
was so cool to sing from because they stopped making them. This week and especially this transfer has gone by so fast its crazy! Oh, we also walked by this lady and she told us she would rather have her kids live a worldly life... I was so shocked. The people here are great and I LOVE them but they're just a lil lazy and not serious about anything but they are people that Heavenly Father has definitely been preparing to accept this gospel!

Arleigh also came home from the North Shore on holiday and it was like being reunited with my sister- haha. Yesterday she came to the VC so we could catch up and she told us that she went to church and just found the nearest chapel where she was on holiday! She is so awesome! I know she will be baptized one day, on the
Lord's timing. Also a lil miracle from online teaching this girl who is going to the college in Maine came online one
night and we started chatting with her. Anyways long story short after a couple of skype lessons she is being baptized in a couple of weeks! She has a pure golden heart! I am so grateful for all the experiences I've had so far as a missionary because it's truly helping me become the person I want to become. all the people you meet and the lessons you learn on your mission truly help shape the rest of your life! Well, today we are decorating the VC for Christmas and I'm wearing vans and jeans!!!!!!!!! Woohooooooo finally -  hahahaha. Okay but here is something I loved from our Stake Conference we just had. 3 exercises for your heart 1. soften your heart 2. bend your knees 3. reach up & out

KIA ORA!!

This week was so gooooood! We had zone conference which was so fun! President and Sister Cummings give the meanest trainings! One thing I loved that was talked about is that everyone is carrying around a "suitcase." We may not all know what is in each others suitcases but what we do know and can always rely on is our Savior to help us carry our suitcase, that at times can weigh us down, but we have to allow him to help us! This is one thing I'm learning to work on because I think I can do everything by myself, haha but I really can't! I know Christ is always willing to help us and will always be there for us, we just have to step into His light, put our
Sister Parasduhita!
trust in him and he will take care of the rest.
This week we found heaps of new people to teach and some part-member families! I have never prayed so much for guidance to Heavenly Father before in life. If we show Heavenly Father that he can trust us and that we want his help he will help us. This week I went on exchanges with Sister Parasduhita from Indonesia again and we had such a good time and many little miracles and rejections, haha but that's life. We also had a VC training for Christmas lights and tours!!! I am so excited but I might be transferred so that's cool.. haha. All goods!
So Sister Flores and I were able to skype missionaries in South Carolina and plan a lesson with them for one of our online investigators it was so cool! It has taken me a while to learn to like the VC haha cause I honestly would
Online teaching and Pukana!
rather be out in our area but this week I was able to see the blessings of serving in the VC, and I have already seen heaps of blessings being in the VC. But this week was just super cool cause 2 people that I started chatting with online, we have been teaching them and they are wanting to be baptized now!! That was just so cool cause I always get creepers online who propose to me or want to date. haha So I finally taught real people!!
My zone also had 2 missionary firesides which were really cool, the choir person made us wear these flowers and it was so funny, we all looked like we were at a wedding. We also had dinner at the Hiakita families home and they remind me sooooo much of my family! It was such a good night! Oh and a photographer from
Glenview Zone
Sydney, Australia came in for a wedding and he was showing me pics and he was just in Samoa last week with Elder Hollingsworth and then in Fiji a while ago with Elder Billings haha that was so crazy. Okay well that's all, I hope this letter is long enough for you mum! LOVE YOU HEAPS!!

Week #20 - November 12th, 2017 - Went To A Lake And Almost Jumped In

Show me your PUKANA
KIA ORA!!!

I hope everyone is doing good! So this week was great, I LOVE Sister Flores haha she is so crack up and a lifelong best friend! So Pat, from Thailand, got baptized!!! woohooo She is so awesome, today we are having a picnic at the lake with her and she is making us Thai food!! Her baptism was BEAUTIFUL! this week was just so good! We had a potluck with our ward and brought investigators, and our ward immediately made them feel welcomed and like my family!! I LOVE my area and ward!! They are family to me! We also had FHE at one of my fav families haha the Floods. They are so awesome, their son has a Mormon message "Jayden's Story." You
should check it out! They are such a strong family and FHE was so fun!! Oh, also I've been trying to cook lol surprise!! And I set the fire alarm off 3 times hehe Oh well! Sunday we had a fireside "If the Savior Stood Beside Me" and us VC sisters put it on! I talked about having hope, which was kinda funny because it's something I have always lacked but I realized if you aren't hopeful then you aren't LIVING the gospel. "Let us remember that through any illness or difficult challenge, there is still much in life to be hopeful about and grateful for. We are INFINITELY more than our limitations or our afflictions!" -Jeffrey R. Holland. I LOVE YOUS!! Remember to have HOPE! You are all in my prayers every

Week #19 - November 5th, 2017 - TONGA VS. SAMOA

I love being a missionary!
KIA ORA!

This week was so crazy!! There have been some changes to online teaching, and we can skype and use facebook messenger with our investigators online! We are also able to skype in on lessons with our investigators as local missionaries so that's cool! So if it shows I'm on facebook, I'm not being dodgy. haha It's all goods! So this week Sister Flores and I had some really powerful lessons with our investigators that are progressing. One of them, Pat who is 40 from Thailand originally, is getting baptized on Saturday!! She brought us (dairy free!!!!!!!) ice cream the other day to the VC so we ate it with her outside of the temple underneath a

tree. It was so nice! She is so awesome and has a STRONG  testimony about our Savior, Jesus Christ. We had a really cool lesson with Angelo, from the Philippines and you could tell the Spirit touched him as we were reading the scriptures. We watched a really neat video on lds.org about the sacrament that made him cry a little. The Spirit was so strong!! Arleigh is doing good! She is still waiting to figure out marriage so she can get baptized, she is becoming more and more like Christ each day. The work is pumpin!

Okay so on Saturday there was rugby game Tonga vs. Samoa which was so crazy, there were heaps of people coming to the VC before the game and it was so busy and packed with Tongans getting all ready for the game. There were riots in Auckland and it started happening in
Much needed FACEMASK (nothings changed hehe)
Hamilton so we got told to keep off the streets. haha It was so crazy, fireworks everywhere!! and TONGA WON! Then on Sunday, William Hopoate, who is from Aussie and plays for Tonga, came into the VC with his family for family pictures. haha That was cool. Him and his wife are so nice and it was fun to talk to them! There is a Mormon message about him that we play all the time here at the VC! This week has been great! I'm excited for this week because we have a lot of work to do! The mission is crazy, I'm learning heaps constantly and A LOT about who I am. GRATITUDE and LOVE go a long way.
"it's an attitude shift, it's a mind change, it's about the gospel"

This is Adam and his caretaker, Goeffrey. Adam was in gangs all his life and got beaten up very bad and has brain damage now.  He comes to the VC about every other week and we sing songs with him and he prays for us. Whenever we are singing and he prays he has a huge light in his eyes! He wants to be baptized but has to wait, but Heavenly Father knows the intents of his heart! His story is so powerful.
